COMMUNITY HALL
At the executive meeting on 1st August, I was given the task to come up with three colour options to present to residents at the AGM. What I have learned since moving here is that the light in the Canberra region is generally very light and bright and painted surfaces when in full, bright sunlight tend to diminish in hue, and the colours tend to fade or wash out. Any pale shade of colour will appear to be very light, even white when seen from a distance (which is what many of us see from our view). So in deciding on colours, I looked at literally the whole of the spectrum of colours on the Dulux colour wall, before I came home with a pile of colour chips. After making a short list I went to the Dulux web site and uploaded a photograph and tried various colour combinations, as well as some of their recommended combinations. The more colours I tried, the more I found that the darker colours (in my opinion) were more harmonious, and in particular with the dark pine forest backdrop in mind. So after a lot of trials & tribulations, I came up with the three options you can see on the left. The actual colour chips will be available at the hall for you to sere at the AGM. Note that web colours and actual colours can differ from computer to computer.
